Simple Weekend

After my Missy's saga, my little master is down with a bad throat infection. Fever is here and it is time to eat antibiotics! :( He was still hving quite a high temperature last nite, so, which means this wkend, we hv to keep it simple.

Make this simple sandwiches for the kids this morning. For those ard me, I have been yakking on creating interesting breakfast menus for my master to bring to his school next year. And reading Poeny's culinary Journal has further inspired me !! See these cute little toothpicks, they are my loot frm Diason Japan! Hehehe... It is rather a simple fare but dressing them up makes them look appetizing. Even Kel was so impressed that his bf looks interesting this morning!

Well, the smiles of the three Tangs are rewarding this morning. Life can be simple ..

My Gal

I was having my lunch this afternoon when my hp rang. Nothing unusual, hp rang at anytime, anywhere BUT, it was from my mum (which is abit abnormal..)

Anyway, she called to 'inform' me that she saw a silver little thing inside missy's nose! Yes, missy is having alot of mucus and is sneezing and there is this little thing which looks like a metal ball in her nose!

FREAK OUT is the word.. I cannot over-react cos I was in the canteen having my lunch.. I told mum to bring her to GP and see whether he could dig that thing out while I prepared to go home asap.

Mum called back again, GP not able to do the "digging", he wrote a referral letter to admit her to KK A&E dept..**Faint**

Call kel, he was in town for a departmental lunch and we decided to meet at KK.

Did a preliminary chk, paid the consultation (mind u..Pay first..) and in 5mins time, we were called into the doctor's room.

The doctor explained 2 methods of getting that "thing" out..

1) Sedate her, then dug out the thing using an equipment similar to the one we used to dig our ears. But Risk, the thing will fall into her throat and she might choke.

2) A more Cruel but preferred method (the doctor say one..) Bundle her up and dug it out while she is fully awake.

So, option 2, no need to choose. We will sit outside to wait while the doctor prepared the room and staff.

Kel told us to get her a lollipop while he will accompany her..(cos he has more strength) to hold her? Or he knows women cannot take situation where it involves pain?? Anyway, only 1 person can accompany her and daddy is the preferred choice.

Well, when we were back, we could hear missy screaming from outside the room and in less than 3mins, they are out!

According to kel, they used a big towel and bundle her up. Two nurses hold her body, another 2 hold her head while the doctor dig!

Sigh.. I think i will freak out if i am inside..I will probably cry.. my poor baby. After that, missy nose bled abit.. no big deal and she can munch french fries and drink green tea and smile.

This is what was dug out of her nose.. THE BELL of her Anklet!

Well, what an experience.. and Kerin, pls!!! U are a Girl!! Please!! Dont do it again!!

Preparation

There are a lot of preparations to be done before we set off to Japan this time. As the weather will be slightly colder, we went to Coldwear and bought Justin a knitted sweater and gloves. He got himself a knitted cap from Aunty Sarah as a pre-x’mas gift. As for both of us, we thought simple jacket will do but but… we slightly over-estimated ourselvesJ.

Having flu vaccinate done is equally important. According to the family doctor, this round of vaccinate is for protection against the colder winter weather in the temperate counties. There are two types, one for the southern and one for northern winter.. (interesting..huh?? I mean I am abit behind times la to me a vaccinate is just a vaccinate…)

Besides that, we have to prepare some medicines to bring along especially when bringing a kid along.

This is a list which we found at Coldwear Shop that we find extremely useful (For 5-7 days) :-

Mild Layering :-
Sweater/cardigan
Long sleeve tees

Outer wear :-
Jacket/Coat

Inner Wear :-
Jeans
Underwear(disposable)
Socks/gloves

Toiletries :-
Lip balm/body mosituriser

Medications :-
Cold and Flu remedy
Diarrhoea medicine
Paracetamol etc

If you are going shopping, it is good to bring along a foldable shopping bag and a small backpack for day use. And of course, you should drink lots and lots of water at all times and try to avoid too much fried stuff and eat in moderation. As most hotel rooms have mini fridge, we will get some yogurt or Yakult as desserts at the end of the day.

Most importantly, relax and enjoy the trip and be flexible to any changes that pop up along the way.
