Happy Chinese New Year

Well, it seems to be late to blog about CNY but what the heck, as long as it is still within the 15 days, it is still CNY!

And since my lunar birthday falls on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, it is a series of celebration for me and my dad will make a point to get me a cake on that day even till now when I am really 35yrs old with two kids! Anyway, the kids seems to be more excited than me..

U've parcel * Nice Surprise*

Was 'busy' working when someone called me at my mobile and told me that there is a parcel for me from 7degreeC. I was like, "Huh, what was that?" " 7degreeC??" Sounds like a Pub name! Anyway, it came in a HUGE white Box with a remark: "Dry ice is inside, pls don't touch with bare hands!" And to my surprise! It was a Fruits-In-A-Cup arrangement! They hv strawberries coated with chocolate, grapes coated in chocolate, bananas coated in chocolate and of course, strawberries (minus the chocolate)all arranged on a pile of lettuce in a cup!

Awfully Sinful but delightfully sweet! Hehehe.. I ate 1/4 of it and shared the balance with the rest of my colleagues. A very nice dessert after lunch and of course, a very sweet thought from my ah lao (kel).. Never fail to surprise me every year! (Oh boy, it must be very stressful huh?)

And of course, thank u very much dada.. **SSS** (Simply, Sinfully Sweet!) *Burp!* And I don't really need anymore things from you this year. With u, life is more or less complete. (though i don't mind having another bag, or watch or shoes or .. or ...) **Hehehe....

Behind Time

Meant to blog about Justin’s school Picnic and Race two weeks ago but I really have no time and the energy. What am I busy with? Well, what I can say is the night is short and supervising him finishing his work will take up most of the evening and then by 1030pm I will be in bed, too shack to do anything else.

Well, enough is said, stealing some time to update my blog.

To mark the end of the orientation week, the school organized a Picnic and Race for all the P1 kids. Parents are strongly encouraged to come, mingle with kid’s classmates’ parents, build up a network and of course, exchange emails and hp# to keep in touch.

The event started with a picnic in the hall! Hahaha, Kel and I were expecting to sweat out in the sun, sit on the grass patch and picnic. But, we were told it is in the hall! So, we laid our mats (actually, no need) and took out all our food to share among the kids. While the kids were having fun eating junk food, the parents will chat and exchange contacts.

Then, we are all ready and energize for the Race! The class is divided into 4 subgroup and we are given a set of questions where the answers could be found around the school. So, off we go to search for the answers and it was fun! And the whole race ended with a teamwork item for the boys to foster their friendship and mark the start of perhaps 3 years together in a class before they go for streaming in P4.

Today, we were in school again to meet Justin’s form teacher. This is a usual meet-the –parents session to set the expectations, requirements as well as update on the whole year school events for 2009.

Both the MT and form teacher presented the events of the year and their expectations towards the boys and of course, the schedules of various tests, SA etc.

After June, there will be a carnival and the class is supposed to work together to start a stall to raise fund for the school. Starting now, we are suppose to brainstorm for ideas.. Woo..being a parent nowadays are really stressful!

New Rock Star in the making!!

Routine

Since Justin started school this year, we are also planning another new routine for ourselves.

545am : Rise and Shine! Prepare breakfast for him.
600am : Get myself ready.
615am : Help him to dress and pep-talk to him.
625am : Wait for the school bus at the void deck
630am : Start of morning exercise.
700am : Back home and cool down for 15mins.
~740am : Get out of the house to Work
700pm : Back home to join the kids for dinner.
800pm : Go back our home.
800pm – 900pm : TV off time. Will do some worksheets, check for homework and prepare for next day timetable.
By latest 930pm : Zzzzz time (for Juz). In between, he is free to play or engage in his own activities.

With this kind of schedule, by 11pm at night, the Z monster will be attacking me and I really need to be laid to rest. Although in the afternoon, I will feel slightly lethargic but nowadays, I will try to avoid drinks like coffee or tea and give myself a little perk-up break by leaving my desk to take 5.

So far, I am glad that Justin has no problem falling to sleep by 10pm and waking up around 550am to get himself ready. But again, it is still too early to tell. Like what Kel remarked, it is only the beginning of the 365days ( He forget to deduct 2mths of holidays in between…hehehe..) and we shall see what will happen by March. As for me, the temptation to fall back to my soft bed after we sent him to the bus is very great. But then, another 30mins sleep is not going to do me any good, so, we shall see how much endurance and perseverance I have to continue my morning walk.

Justin Goes to School

2nd of January 2009, a new start of the year and school term. This year will be a very special 1 for us..our house finally has 1 school going kid! Brought back alot of schooling memories for me. (or schooling nitemares??!?!?)

Justin has to raise and shine @550am (cos he is a slow coach.. very slow in eating and waking up... hiazz)

P1 kids are given a warm welcome when they march into the hall.

And guess what Justin ate for recess? Cuttlefish!!! We hv decided to let him bring snacks rather than spending $$ on junk food and soft drinks. And he is having alot of fun in school for the time being.. Too early to tell though, no homework, no pressure..
