A brand new start!

2009 has finally come to the very last day! 364 days hv juz fly by us..so what hv us done for the past 1 yr?

Firstly, our first born (aka Juz) started his schooling journey (same goes for us!) We hv to deal with his nonsenses and adjust to new stuff that were just thrown along our way + his non-consistent performance in school. (Till I really *almost* thrown in the towel and all ready to quit my job to babysit him fulltime!) Fortunately, he didnt do too bad at his yr end exams and though me and kel hv endless disagreements and unhappiness over how to coach and discipline him but we hv this common understanding that it is for his good and we shld not get too emotional over it and solve the issue on hand rationally (most of the time he is more rational than me :)

Sadly, this year I witness alot of relationships changes. Maybe it be marriages, friendships or work relationships but then, they serve as lessons for us to treasure the people ard us, dont take them for granted and again, if it time to let go, we hv to let go and move on.

As for work, well to me..it is just work :) End of the day, my family and friends are still the most important aspects of my life.

Health took a setback since my fall in September. Flu, fever, virus infection came after that and for whole solid 2 months, I hv been on MC on and off and almost 'clearing' all my entitlement for the yr in 2 months!

But then, as the back heals, I am back on track eating wisely and living healthy and resuming my exercise soon when Juz go back to school.

Well, on the whole 2009 is still not that bad, I still can eat when I want, spend when I need to and hv the support of kel and my extended family (my parents and in laws). As for my wishes for 2010, i hope that Juz can be more obedient (pls!), Kerin will continue to be mature:), kel continue to be obedient too (just listen to me can liao) and of course, gd health to all!

May the new year brings new hopes and happiness to all!
Happy 2010!!

Men

We were at Vivo last Wednesday trying to get an induction cooker (cos it was on special promo). While we were struggling to the CP with our big box.. Kel POP the Question! I was Stunned and Shocked for a moment! I couldnt believe my ears! Din we agree on this earlier?

Well, whatever.. since he asked, I shall go along with him. The next moment, I found myself surrounded by lots of chattering/screaming kids, lots of parents trying to find the perfect toy and the long long Q in Toys R Us! :)

Kel decided to get the kids xmas presents.. though I remembered earlier that he say not necessary cos they hv tonnes! Anyway, I hv fine as we battled our way at the aisles and at the cashier and went home with another 2 more big boxes. Well, we din manage to catch their smile this morning when the they found the presents in the living rm (cos we were still sleeping) but they thought Santa came last nite. :D

Wrong Size

It is my pure stubborness. I thought that as time goes by, it will fit and everything will fall into place. So, very persistently, i tried and tried. It made me pretty tired, very shack and pain at the end of the day. But yet, I stubbornly push on.

Till one day, I chance upon the alternative. Hey, it is much better and i realise I shouldn't be stubborn and running away from the truth. This applies to many things in our life.. we stubbornly think we are rite or we stubbornly refuse to give up on a situation/thing without realising that it is making us very tired and shacked. May it be a failing marriage, a sour friendship or working relationship, or a situation that we felt so depressed abt. It is sometimes good to take a step back, leave the issue/thing/person behind us and start afresh. No pt hanging on something we feel important but then it meant nothing to anyone at all.

So, before the yr end on 31 Dec 2009, my wrong sized crocs shoes made me realise.. it is time to use my voc and get a pair that is right for me and move on to 2010 happily and painlessly.. :) (Btw, this applies to alot of times in life too..)

What will u do?

It is end of the yr and bonus time again. With the stk mkt going so bullish + hving our yr end bonus into our a/c this month, what are your plans?

There is nothing wrong to get something to pampered ourselves or getting that big tic item you hv been planning for. As for me, there is always that 1 extra pair of shoes I need, that 1 extra bag I really want or that 1 extra ring that will complete my collection but after marrying Kel for whole 9 yrs, well his way of handling wealth hv rubbed me 1 way or another (though I may not be 100% concur sometimes..)

Well, in the midst of celebration, it is good to spare some thoughts for those less fortunate ones in our society. A percent of your bonus might not hurt you greatly but will definitely bring some changes to them. Like what my mum always teaches us.. "If you can afford, give. If you dont hv, dont worry. If you hv, dont brag and be humble."

Planned Vs Actual

Took a day off last wk with 1 action item in mind - to watch movies with kids. End up, we did all these :-

1) Clean the house and rope in the kids to change the bedsheets (Cos Ping-yi our P/T helper has gone back to HKG for a break and she will gone for ~2wks..**Sob**)

2) Withdraw Juz frm Daycare A and enrol him to Daycare B. He will hv a little get-together with his new friends and supervisors next wk.

3) Brought the kids for flu jab.. very drama as this is the first time, Kerin is taking jabs since 2yrs old (???). The Dr has to bring out all his freebies to distract the little princess.. and while we were all 'chatting' with her, the jab was administrated. No tears, just complaints of pain and she went home with a canon terry bear! (Justin has one freebies too :) *Nice Dr!

4) Went to book feast at Suntec.

5) Kids went movie wif kel and me + mum went shopping at Suntec.

6) Went for Juz follow-up appt with our TCM Dr Lee before she is off for a wk long holidays.

End of the day.. 3 very shacked adults + 2kids.. but lots of achievements done!

Humpty dumpty fell down

Juz playing on the flr, kerin on the sofa drinking milk. KPO humpty dumpty wanted to see what her brother was doing.. lean forward, lean forward......and humpty dumpty slipped down the sofa with her milk bottle. Mouth full of blood!! Panic!!!!

At the end... Humpty Dumpty never broke her teeth, she simply bit her lower lips.. (luckily!!)

All packed to bed..and they sleep happily for the nite.

Hey, I simply hv to brag abt this!! Got this handmade Hello Kitty bag from a Taiwan friend! She made this using plastic strip (those use to bundle trays in fty) and weave into a bag like this!!

Impress and totally speechless though I did see some pics of her doing it. I guess her poor fingers shld be full of blisters by now..:( Poor thing.

Can feel her effort and lots of hard work in this bag.. though we ain't really those best of friends friends but then, deep down I am really touch :) The thought will keep me going despite meeting nasty pple along the way.. I will be good (I promise!)

This is THE bag!

Amusing

We were all watching the 7pm show when Kerin started to comb her gong gong's hair. According to her, she is helping gong gong to cut and 'gel' his hair, in short, she is his hairdresser.

So, all of us are laughing at my dad.. if come 1 day, he is too old to take care of himself.. fear not.. not because his daughter or son are there for him, Kerin will be there for him.

Ooopss...it slipped our mind

Today was our 8th wedding anni and it completely slipped our minds. *LOL* Signs of a breakup? Hehehee... no lah... we are pretty caught with changes, Juz's holidays programmes, kerin's yr end performance, fil ops, dad and sil bds, Juz being unwell, me being unwell...etc etc etc...Simply overwhelming!!

After this wk, all activities will die down except for Kerin's (another) graduation performance at Yamaha sch. And then, we can look forward for a well deserved break starting frm Xmas eve till 30th Dec. So looking forward to our trip (though it is a short one..) Frankly, I hv been unwell for the past 3mths.. time to start life afresh. Looking forward to a healthier 2010!

Spring Cleaning II

Done with the kids wardrobe on Saturday since the car was out of action and it was raining non stop for the whole day.

Hv set aside all the CNY clothings that need to be wash, Kerin's graduation dress and all those clothes that the kids outgrown them.

Daddy's comment was Mummy is finally realising that too many new clothings are bght. Mummy's thought was.. .throw away the old ones, make way for more new jshoppers spring items!!! **LOL**

Shifting Daycare

We took some time off today to checkout a new daycare centre for Juz. This new centre offers group tuition as a part of their daily activities and for a lazy boy for Juz, it seems to be a prayer answered for us. :)

Appt was at 3pm to see the lady of the centre, environment was perfect, group was small enough, location is much nearer to mum place and best of all, there will be two ACS boys in the same place. Now, we are in the midst of getting school bus arrangements done and starting next year, Juz could be jolly well joining this new place.

Of course, we need to pre-talk our little master. He is of course pretty 'resistance'. He would prefers to stay at either mama's or nainai's hse. (Fat chance! We aint stupid either.) And we hv to soft sell the place and show him the interesting school holidays programmes lined up + two new ACS friends to take the same bus to the same place.

Well, fees are 2x the current daycare centre but then, we are pretty hopefully that this new place will yield some good results out of him.

Do you believe?

Do you believe in karma? Since young, we are taught to be nice to people no matter how nasty the other party treated us. Dad will always tell us that each of us is responsible of our own actions/words & thoughts and never to habour any thoughts of harming others, in his own words, we will reap what we sow eventually.

I was quite a believer of this till I joined this place. Frankly, I almost lost my true self in the midst of all the chaos and I am glad through 1 true self reflection, I realised that I do not need to be in such a sorry state. Our life is like a boomerang, what goes out will come back eventually to us some day, in a different form or situation, somehow. With this, I think I can discharge my sad self and move on with a happier one.
