Well, I am on 4D work week for March too.. Lucky for me, 1 of the Fridays happen to coincide with Justin's 1 wk holiday. Will bring him for some fun ba..

Breakfast sets

Company no longer offer free meals, so I am putting more effort in preparing breakfast sets for Juz, Kel and myself.

Below are some of the sets I did this week.

Hot dog Set.
1) NTUC Garlic Hotdog(boiled) Not so nice, prefer another brand.
2) Hot dog bread is free cos it comes with Sunshine Bread.
3) Spread some Jpn maynoaise to make it less dry to taste.
3) Red small container is chili sauce (my big master likes to dip some sauce along with his bread)













Mini Swiss rolls and seaweed Set.
1) Tomato Seaweed per Juz's request.
2) Two mini swiss roll for him.










I will try to do prata hotdog next week. Abit insane come to think of it but all these were done in the wee hours! hohoho...

Lazing around

This Sunday we decided to stay at home to let my PILs have a good rest. They have been helping to babysit the kiddos for 2 days and oh boy, it must be pretty tiring for them.

So as usual, Sunday will be Kerin's Soo-Soo (aka Playground day). Nowadays, we have to respect the kids. I have to ask the little princess which playground she would like to go and you will be surprised that a 3++ yrs old gal has her mind of her own. She will yak on why she choose that particular playground and what does it have that interest her and apparently, the selling point of this particular playground is the Swing! :)



See how many happily she is swinging.. she will yell "Mummy, higher, higher!"















After 30mins of play, we need to go to the market to get ready the ingredients for lunch. I did a simple fried egg noddles. I like to do fried noddles/mee hoon, easy to do with all the ingredients dumped in and just fried!


This is my version of fried egg noddles :- (Serve 4pax)
Ingredients:-
1) 1 to 1 1/2 pack of Myojo Egg Noddle Mee Poh (You can choose spinach noddles too) - Boil them and put aside but dont overcook it.
2) 8 to 10 prawns (cut into small pieces)
3) 1 small cabbage (shredded)
4) 1 carrot (shredded)
5) 3 shiitake mushrooms (diced - the kids like this compared to Chinese dried mushroom)
6) 1 can of SPAM luncheon meat (diced - rather expensive and salty)
7) 2 bowl of chicken stock ( I used 1 tablespoon of Maggie Concentrated Chicken stock mix with 1 bowl of water).

Method:-
1) Fried the luncheon meat till golden brown, scoop up and put aside
2) Use the leftover oil, stir fry the carrot, cabbage, shiitake mushrooms and prawns.
3) Pour in the chicken stock and cook the veggies are soft.
4) Pour in the boiled noddles and fried till noddles are soft.

Scoop and put in rice cooker to keep them warm and u can serve with tomato or chili sauce.

Well, the end product is still not that bad. No pics cos was in a mad rush to clean the place and house before the boys hit home from their classes. If there is a chance, will fried more and bring to office for lunch.

Rainbow..Did u See it?

A wonderful sight to brighten up a day!! Did you manage to catch it yesterday?

The last time I saw 1 was ~8 or 9yrs at Ubin..That rainbow stretches from 1 pt of the island to the other .. A sight I wun forget for the rest of my life..

Downtown east - Explorer Kid

Saturday evening is usually a outdoor day for the kids. Initially we decided to go to the park but overcast sky suggested that it might not be a good idea. So, where can the kids burn energy and at the same time have lots of fun?

Daddy came up with this good idea to visit Downtown East - Explorer kid. Basically, it is an indoor playground with areas designated for kids of different ages.

There is a ball "pool" (what I think it shld called :) for toddlers age <3,>3 yrs old and of course, 3 to 4 play areas for older kids.

The bigger playgrounds and there are a couple of areas which need extra charges if the kids want to play in them.

Charges are pretty reasonable and pretty worth for NTUC union members. Plus there are alot of eateries at Downtown East to settle your meals so that you don't hv to move out of the place.

Another day off - Could it be the last one?

My office is observing the last 4D-week for the month tomorrow. Will it be the last one? Well, no one can tell and we all have to wait for more information from management. To be frank, I am enjoying all these days off.(**sounds contradicting?) I guess mainly because, I am still not suffering from pay cut and though I have to work my heads off from Monday to Thursday and monitor some critical issues on Friday, but, I am glad that I can still 'steal' some time to dye my hair, do foot reflexology, sneak on Justin, bring meimei and mum out for shopping, meet fren and of course, window shop around and experience the life as a SAHM(with older kids).

And this Friday, I am going for my facial and kel has taken the PM off to spend some time with me. Since Justin started his P1, we have been kept very busy from morning to night esp Kel who always have to coach him almost every night. And we are amazed that a young kid like Justin has alot of creative excuses, ideas and thoughts that never fail to amaze us everyday!

Well, I am going to enjoy this Friday and take a good, relax rest.

A day for all

February 14th has long been marked as Valentine's Day and it has always been projected a day for lovers to buy each other gifts and romantic dinners. If asked how does Valentine's Day come about, would you know?

Apparently, I don't even though we have been celebrating it for years. Last Wednesday, we received a very interesting memo from Justin's school PSG about Valentine's Day. Apparently, this day is to honour Saint Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity and on this day of his death, he left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter who had become his friend and signed it "From your Valentine". So, over the years, this day has become the date for exchanging love messages and simple gifts such as flowers.

PSG has urged every parent to show our love for our kids (just like the way we wanted to please our spouses/lovers) by showering our kids with sweet-noted cards and gifts so that our kids will feel loved and appreciated on this day too. Besides, V-day is not only for lovers, spouses but also for friends and families.

And guess what we did? We signed our little sweet note to our beloved little boy and bought him a packet of sweets (he loves sweets anyway!), packed them into a big envelope, put on a stamp, attention to him and left it in the letterbox. As usual, he will be the one opening the letterbox everyday and when he saw the parcel, he was so excited and surprised. While waiting for the lift, he kept asking me who could hv sent him this parcel? What could it be? (Could it be his lost ruler and pencil?*LOL*) and why someone sent him this parcel and so on and so forth..

When we reached home, he quickly opened up the parcel and it really warmed my heart to see his delighted face when he saw the sweets + the card and his happiness to be loved and appreciated on this day. He gave me a big hug ( and 1 to his daddy too) and personally, I think we did a right thing to send him to this school where besides developing the kids academically, they focus alot on values and bonds of love and commitment between the kids and parents. Else, I wouldn't have prepared this surprise for him (can tell I not very romantic) and miss out this memorable experience.

And we hope that Justin will grow up knowing the true meaning of V-day and everyday is a V-day as long as we have one another and friends to standby us.
