Pet - Terrapins

Yes Yes Yes, the kids finally convinced or "nagged" us into getting terrapins for them! Justin promised to take care, clean and feed them ( we shall wait and see how long the passion will last..) and of course, Kerin promised nothing. She just want to play with the tortoise..

So, presenting Tom N Jerry (Dont ask me why we name them after the famous cartoon characters.) And since all terrapins look like identical twins, how do we differentiate them?? Tom is the one with a longer tail, that is why he has a shorter name. And Jerry is the one with shorter tail and that is why he has a long name. (Kel and Juz's logic..Men's logic are most of the time...puzzling??)

Meant to post this long time ago....but again was pretty tied up at work and planning for the Japan trip.

We are flying to Japan next wk. Hv to standby all the warmer clothings, medications, itineraries etc etc... oh gee... mind boggling...

Singapore Flyer

Hi all,

Last Saturday, Daddy and Mummy brought us to the Singapore Flyer! I've been looking forward to the ride for a very long long time!!! Luckily, the weather was perfect for the flight..and off we go!

Love or Pure Indulgence

Sometimes it is difficult to tell whether it is love or pure indulgence. I believe all or most of us have this experience where the grandparents/grandaunties/uncles or any relatives who will give in to our kids in all situations. Like my hubby’s aunty will let the kids stir her coffee, add sugar and creamer for her and do all sorts of ‘adult’ things. My dad will let Kerin play with the ti-kam machines every day till I ‘complain’ like hell. To the older generations, this is a form displaying their love for their grandchildren. They will not think twice about giving whatever the kids want. But to the parents, we viewed it as ‘spoiling’ the kids and cultivating a bad habit where the kids will not treasured what they have cos there is always ample suppliers around.

On second thought, there is nothing right or wrong in this. It is matter of perception. To me, as long as it is not OVER indulgence, I am fine. I am pretty particular about food, for example, when the kids are coughing or sick etc, we still give them ice-cream or sweets, I will call this over indulgence. As for clothes/shoes, I believe as long as I can afford it, I will get them nice things to wear once awhile (or most of the time). Toys are never enough, so we can go slow on it. So, it is really a matter of perception.

Kel doesn’t like the idea of going out every weekend as this will give the kids an ideal that we have to go shopping every weekend and we cannot stay at home to do activities together. For me, it is fine as long as I have nothing in mind to buy or when I am not too stress out at work. Kekeke.. I think we have to learn and respect each other’s perception and beliefs in handling different situations and I think once awhile indulgence is fine. Don’t we all like as a child to have aunties/uncles to get us what our parents wouldn’t buy sometimes?

BKK - Last 2 days

Sun and Mon were spent mostly to finish the unfinished business. :) Went to the famous Chatuchak Wkend Market. The range of products is EXTENSIVE!! From household accessories, handicrafts, live animals to clothes, food, plants and flowers etc... And the place is HUGE!!

From our hotel, we took the BTS all the way to the terminal station called Mo Chit. The weather was pretty HOT on Sunday and after spending 3hrs browsing through some shops, I bght 2 pairs of shoes! and we decided to hv lunch and chkout the mall beside this market. And the best thing is JJ mall is Fully aircon!!!

They sell a wide range of wedding favours!! Cool!! (Was sourcing ard for my brother..)

We always come here to hv lunch. The menu still the same, the place still the same.

JJ mall, the setting is the same as CC mkt just that the price could be a few bhats more expensive but then, the whole place is air-con!

And do we miss the kids?? Only when we called at nite, else the whole day was fully occupied by thoughts like what to buy or them? Shld we buy this? Where shld we go? What shld we hv for dinner? Are we going massage tonite? I think it is good to get away once awhile to defrost and chill out. Hv a very Enjoyable time.. Well, opportunity never knocks twice!

BKK Day 2

Day 2 is a Saturday, after a heavy breakfast in the hotel, we set off to Chinatown!! We took the BTS to Asok where we change Metro(aka MRT) to Hua Lamphong station. Thailand's Metro started around 4yrs ago and this makes travelling to places like Chinatown much more conventient and easy. At Hua Lamphong station, we took a tuk tuk to the shops in Chinatown. We tried once to walk to the shops frm this station but we got lost in the end. To save the trouble, we decided to pay ~50Bhat and sit a tuk tuk instead and it took just <10mins!>

Well, it started to rain and out of no choice, we hv to seek refuge in a shop. This is no normal shop...It is THE shop that sells alot of Disney stuff!!! We spent ~1.5hrs there to wait for the rain to stop and guess what? We spent ~1,500 Bhat just in the shop!!

After this shop, we went for lunch in a famous restaurant for lunch.

Fish maw soup, veggie, steam cod fish, roast duck etc cost ard S$40.

BKK Day 1

Setoff to BKK on a bright sunny Friday Morning and in two hours time, we landed in the Country of Thousand smiles! Sawadee!!

First thing to do is of course to checkin to the hotel! We are staying in Emporium Suites located at Sukhumvit Road linking to Phrom Phong BTS of the Sukhumvit line (6 stations to MBK!!!).

This is the room. It is a service apartment and it comes with all the amenities such as fully equipped kitchen with all utensils, iron and iron board etc.

After settling down, I am off to MBK!!! Hv a quick lunch in the food court and I started checking out all the stores! It has been 4yrs since I last visited BKK and MBK is still the same. Still full of small little stalls selling stuffs frm electronic appliances, moblie accessories, bags, kids stuff, comestics, shoes, u name it, they have it! I started to make a mental note which are the stuff I need to get and be sure, I come back on the last day to get them. And of course, to Siam centre to checkout some of the smaller shops.

6th floor is full of these handicraft stalls.. bght 1 handmade braclet for ~179Bhat.

We hv dinner at MBK and after that, we visited a traditional Thai massage shop for a 2hr Full body Thai massage. Simply heavenly!! And it is located just besides the hotel! After that, we went to shop at the supermarket and bght some supper. This marks the End of Day 1.
